Whiskey
Soft 'n Tasty
Astonishing quality A revolutionary whiskey hand distilled from farm-fresh white corn. All other whiskies use dry field corn, which has to be boiled in water to convert the starches to sugar for fermentation. All that wonderful fresh corn flavor, all the natural sweetness, is gone. Devin Cain spent four years perfecting a way to distill fresh corn, the same tasty corn you buy at the grocer’s. He uses the former Germain-Robin antique cognac still.
Elegant, rich in flavor, incredibly smooth, very easy to drink.
Low Gap
MALT ADVOCATE’S “Artisan Whiskey of the Year” in 2012. The talented Crispin Cain, uses ancestral methods on the antique 16HL cognac still at the former Germain-Robin distillery (founded in 1982). On-site fermentation of distilling beer; aging in new and used barrels (including bourbon barrels from Van Winkle, port barrels from Quady, and Limousin cognac barrels from Germain-Robin); descent to bottling proof with filtered rainwater.

LOW GAP 3yr Bourbon
Double gold medals at 50 Best Whiskies competition against far older bourbons. Crispin Cain started to distill whiskey for sale in 2010, but he waited for three years before making a bourbon because he wanted to feel completely confident in the process. The mash bill is corn, barley, and rye; aged in air-dried Minnesota oak. A number of devotees have told us this is the best bourbon they have experienced. Wonderfully approachable, smooth, soft, and rich

Old Sugar Distillery
Old Sugar Distillery in Madison, Wisconsin produces hand-made, high quality spirits. Their name stems both from the use of sugar as a base for many of the products, and from Madison’s history of beet sugar production. Their spirits are made in-house, from beginning to end, using a modified direct fire pot-still. Direct fire causes some caramelization during the distillation process, allowing for more robust and flavorful final distillate. Most Old Sugar spirits are finished by aging in American Oak barrels coopered in Minnesota.
